Universal Orlando Tickets
Universal Orlando Tickets – The Options
Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure tickets have rocketed in price over recent years. This is due to the expansion of the parks and the creation of the 2 Harry Potter areas. The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter cost hundreds of millions of Dollars to create and the prices of the Universal Orlando tickets reflect this. Read below for Mr Brit’s tip on how to buy the cheapest Universal Studios ticket.
2 Park Explorer Pass
The Universal Orlando 2 Park Explorer Pass gets you 14 days admission to Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure. These are the two theme parks of the Universal Orlando Resort. You can hop between both parks as much as you want.
3 Park Explorer Pass
The 3 Park Explorer pass is the 2 park pass but with the added extra of admission to the Volcano Bay. Volcano Bay is the water park of the Universal Orlando Resort. Universal tend to run ‘offers’ that give you the 3 park pass for the same price as the 2 park pass.
How Mr Brit buys his Universal tickets
Using the exchange rate at time of writing, the 2019 prices of the 2 Park Explorer pass is £259. This price is the lowest price available at this moment of writing. At this same time the Universal Orlando Seasonal Annual pass costs £250. The Seasonal Annual Pass gets you into both main theme parks for the year but with some blackout dates.
It can cost £125 per holiday
Mr Brit’s family buy the annual Seasonal Pass and it gets us two annual holidays so it really costs £125 per holiday. We buy this pass and activate it for the second week of our holiday. The following year we come back and use it for the first week of that holiday. This is a great way to buy Universal Orlando tickets. You do not get access to Volcano Bay with this ticket but do you really need it? Orlando has some great water parks and by all accounts, Volcano Bay is overly busy most days.
The Universal Orlando Seasonal Pass
The Seasonal Pass allows you access to the parks except for certain days in January, April, July and December. During Mardi Gras at Universal Studios, some extra blackout days apply. If you are not visiting during these days, the ticket is a great option
Other Annual Passes on interest free!
The annual Power Pass, Preferred Pass and Premier Pass cost more but all come with interest free payment options. The interest free option requires a down payment of 50% with the balance being spread over 11 months. Here are the benefits of these other annual passes…
The Universal Orlando Power Pass
The Power Pass is similar to the Seasonal Pass above. It allows you access to the parks except for certain days in January, April and December. During Mardi Gras at Universal Studios, some extra blackout days apply. 50% off regular parking is an extra benefit for Power Pass holders along with free access to some special events.
The Universal Orlando Preferred Pass
The Universal Orlando Preferred Pass gives you all of the benefits above along with free regular parking and discounts off food, drinks and merchandise. There are no blackout days but there are some early admission blackout times.
Universal Orlando Premier Pass
The Universal Orlando Premier Pass gives you all of the benefits above along with free Universal Express Pass in both parks after 4pm. Free valet parking and early park admission are also part of this pass. One free ticket to Halloween Horror Nights is another benefit.
