ADD the place should be called Buy one Get One 50% Off Outlets because most shops do this type of deal. Parking can be really hard at morning times. Not far from Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando is an open air shopping complex that has a great range of clothes, shoes and gadgets to suit all pockets and tastes. There are some big name brands at Premium Outlets such as Calvin Klein, Dior and Giorgio Armani but this doesn’t mean that everything will cost a small fortune.
All of the stores are specialist stores so you will find some very original designs here and if you can afford it, you could do some real damage to your credit card. On a recent visit to the shopping complex I spotted an $800 hand bag in one of the stores so I didn’t want Mrs Brit spending too much time in that store but even with our modest budget, we came away from Premium Outlets with a few bags full of goodies and we were really happy with the days deals.
If you are looking for Crocs (see ‘Visiting the Theme Parks’) there is a great Crocs shop and you will be astounded at the massive range and styles of shoes that have been created using Crocs technology. You can buy Crocs for Knee pads, Crocs Wellington boots and even ladies Crocs with heels!! When we popped into the Crocs shop recently we were looking for 2 pairs of standard Crocs for the theme parks and these were costing just $19.99 a pair but the offer running at that time was get the 2nd pair half price so this brought the cost down to $30 for 2 pairs. This sort of deal is very common with the shoe stores in Orlando so keep your eyes open for the special offer signs in-store.
As with all of the American shopping malls there is also a great Food Court area offering delicious food from Asian food to Subway sandwiches and Pizza to fried chicken. The food court seating is a communal seating area so you can all choose different meals and still sit together.
Orlando Premium Outlets is located just 1 mile away from the Walt Disney World Resort at 8200 Vineland Ave FL 32821. To find complete listings of stores throughout the Premium Outlets mall, visit the mall website below
At the north end of I-Drive at 4951 International Drive FL 32819 is a large group of Brand name discount stores called the Prime Outlets International (formerly known as Belz Factory Outlet Mall)
As with the Premium Outlets above there are some top name brands as well as a great selection of stores for the average shopper. I popped into the Adidas store at Prime Outlets International recently to bag a pair of trainers (sneakers) and spotted a great, old-school pair of Adidas Samba which I used to wear as a young lad in the 1980’s. The shoes were priced at $44 which was around £22 at the time and I remembered my Mum paying about £30 over 20 years ago so for old times sake I had to grab a pair of these.
When I walked around the corner to shout out “Mrs Brit, have you seen how cheap these are” I came across this promotion at the end of the aisle and couldn’t believe my eyes. The deal was, you buy 2 pairs of trainers and the cheapest pair was half price so I ended up coming away with 2 pairs of Adidas Samba, costing around £16 a pair.
